Hi everyone! Finally i uploaded my first ever Youtube video, honestly, i never thought a 2 minutes video will be so hard for me!
That’s my first video, so i just plan to introduce a little bit of myself and Let the audience have a simple understanding of me. Because of i knew who is the audience of this video, so it is easy for me when i choose the content. The video is only up to two minutes, I think i should make my video simple and clear for audience’s to easy understanding, so I excluded my other interests and information which has less relation to my study and career aspirations. Therefore, I only picked up marketing as study, my career aspiration and use my Constellation to introduce my interest.
I also tried to make my video looks more authenticity, i think keep the content authenticity is doesn’t mean just not to script the video. To the contrary, i think make a good plan and script some point will make my video better. For me, i think the video’s “authenticity” means try to let the audience feel there is no distance with the people in the video, just like listening to a friend chat.
I am concerned about the background I present in the video because the audience has to pay attention to the speaker appearing in the video. Since my camera doesn’t have an external microphone, I have to make sure my background is very quiet which means i cannot record my video outside in case there has sudden noises, like cars or dogs barking.
I chose to record this video in my bedroom because my bedroom is well-lit and has a clean background. I put some object behind me to make sure that my background is not just a plain white wall also not messy. I also positioned just slightly to sit at right, using the rule of thirds to show my background which is a guitar and two toys. Moreover, I also tried smiling and waving to audiences, this might looks more friendly. For the lighting, i didn’t a professional equipment, so i just use my desk lamp and put my computer behind my camera, set the background of computer to white and i found is useful!😄
In order to make the video not too boring, i make a little beginning for the video. It was inspired by the funny things that happened when I was testing the camera, and I thought adding it to the video would make it more interesting. Also i found a background music from Digccmixter to make sure it has a CreativeCommons license.
Challenges!
When i started to recorded the video, the first challenge came which is nervous. I told myself to relax and just make a two-minute video, But I still keep forgetting what to say, and saying the wrong words. To overcome the difficulty of speaking on camera, I did a lot of rehearsals and asked my friends for advice. After a lot of practice, I finally finished the recording successfully.
Well, after filming all of the content that i want to talk, i found is almost 15 minutes, and it’s really difficult to cut into 2 minutes, it was very difficult to choose what you want to cut and what you want to remain. So next time, i must make my plan more clearly, and not just some important point.
Another challenging part of creating this video was when i tried to export this video and upload it to Youtube. I ran into some technical problems when I edited my video and wanted to export it, that’s also let me know why we must started our work earlier and Never leave it to the last minute, cause you never know when an accident might come:(
More than these few challenges, I am happy with my final video, and I really enjoy planning and editing a video, also learnt a lot from this task and
